Texas Virtual Academy Testing Requirements & STAAR Schedules
As a tuition-free public virtual academy operated by Copperas Cove ISD, CTIA fully adheres to all Texas State testing rules. While daily coursework is entirely virtual, state law dictates that formal benchmarks must be completed in person at designated regional sites.
A student who does not achieve the minimum required score on any individual assessment will be required to retake that assessment.
In-Person Testing Site Proximity & Locations
We value your time and convenience; therefore, we coordinate local testing sites to ensure no student has to travel more than 150 miles to complete their assessments on the designated state dates. CTIA's decentralized testing approach supports transitioning Fort Hood families and statewide students by minimizing travel logistics during official state testing windows.
These assessments allow us to measure growth and ensure our students remain competitive on a statewide level. Satisfactory performance on Texas EOC assessments is a mandatory prerequisite for earning a high school diploma in the state of Texas.
