Technology & Connectivity Requirements

At Central Texas Innovation Academy (CTIA), we want to ensure every student has the tools they need to succeed in a digital learning environment. To support this, we have established the following technology standards:

Required Equipment & Connectivity

  • Reliable Internet Connection: A stable, high-speed internet connection is essential for student success. Without reliable access, students may struggle to participate in live sessions or submit coursework on time.
  • Devices: While personal devices may be used for some tasks, district-owned Chromebooks are encouraged to be used for all synchronous instruction. This allows our educators to monitor student progress in real-time and provide immediate, adequate support during live lessons.
  • Printer Access: While most coursework is digital, having access to a printer is highly encouraged for specific assignments and offline study materials.

The CTIA Chromebook Advantage

All students will be issued a laptop for their school work through Central Texas Innovation Academy. Using this device ensures:

  • Safety and Security: All CTIA Chromebooks come pre-installed with robust web filtering software to ensure a safe, age-appropriate browsing experience.
  • Technical Support: Our dedicated technology team provides full troubleshooting and repairs for district-issued devices. Please note that we cannot provide technical support for personal laptops or tablets.
  • Ready for Learning: District devices are pre-configured with the necessary software and access points required for the CTIA curriculum, ensuring a seamless start to the school year.

Acceptable Use Policy

To ensure a productive and safe digital environment, both parents and students are expected to review and sign an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) prior to receiving a device or accessing academy resources. This policy outlines the standards for responsible and ethical technology use.
