Yes. Every enrolled student is issued a district Chromebook. While personal devices are permitted, CTIA can only provide technical support, repairs, and troubleshooting for district-issued Chromebooks.

Yes, all students are provided with a district-monitored email account for all academy communications.

If using a personal device, it must meet CTIA Technical Specifications. This includes using an up-to-date browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Safari) and a stable high-speed internet connection.

• Courses make use of a wide variety of features and technologies, such as Java, Flash, HTML5, CSS2/3, and depending on the course, other specialized components that help you achieve a more immersive learning experience.

• Supported Browsers: Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari

Yes. Both parents and students are expected to sign an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) before receiving a device or accessing academy resources to ensure responsible technology use.

We use the Lightspeed Solutions Suite to provide a multi-layered safety approach:

• Internet Filtering: Blocks inappropriate content and ensures age-appropriate browsing on all district devices.
• Lightspeed Classroom: Allows teachers to monitor student screens in real-time during instruction to keep students on task and offer instant help.
• Lightspeed Alerts: An AI-driven system that monitors for signs of self-harm, violence, or bullying, notifying safety officials immediately if a concern is detected.

The internet filter remains active on district Chromebooks 24/7. While classroom monitoring by teachers occurs during school hours, Lightspeed Alerts remains active any time a student is logged into their district account to ensure continuous safety.

District monitoring tools like Lightspeed Classroom only apply to personal devices when the student is logged into their CTIA-provided accounts (e.g., Buzz LMS or school email). We recommend using the district Chromebook for the most comprehensive protection.
