Welcome from the Principal
Welcome to Central Texas Innovation Academy!
It is an honor to serve as the principal of CTIA and to be part of a school designed to provide students with flexible, innovative pathways to success. I believe every student deserves an educational experience that prepares them for what comes next — whether that is the workforce, technical school, college, or military service.
My own career has taken a nontraditional path, which is one reason I am so passionate about helping students discover theirs. Before entering public education, I worked as a welder for Lockheed Martin. I earned an Associate of Science degree in Welding Technology from Tarrant County Junior College, a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from The University of Texas at Arlington, and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from UTA.
For the past 25 years, I have had the privilege of serving students in public education in a variety of roles. Early in my career, I taught technology and engineering courses at the junior high level in Arlington ISD, an experience that strengthened my belief in the value of Career and Technical Education and hands-on learning. In 2025, I was honored to be named the Texas Rural Education Association Texas State Principal of the Year.
I am a strong supporter of public education, technical innovation, and partnerships between schools, businesses, colleges, technical programs, and community organizations. I believe that when public and private partners work together, we can create more opportunities for students and better prepare them for life after graduation. Working together makes us all stronger.
My connection to Copperas Cove ISD is also deeply personal. My wife, Amanda, and I are proud parents of three daughters, all of whom graduated from Copperas Cove ISD schools. We have seen firsthand the impact that strong educators, meaningful opportunities, and a supportive school community can have on a student’s future.
At CTIA, our goal is to meet students where they are while maintaining high expectations for where they can go. We are committed to providing students with flexibility, strong academic support, meaningful career and technical opportunities, and multiple pathways to postsecondary success.
I am excited about what we are building at Central Texas Innovation Academy and grateful for the opportunity to work alongside our students, families, educators, and community partners.
Welcome to CTIA!
One Pack, One Purpose.
